Sophia Bush took a break from chasing criminals on the set of the upcoming “Chicago Fire” spinoff, “Chicago PD” to get dolled up for an appearance at the Coach store in the Gold Coast.
“Marina (Squerciati) and I had the night off and decided we’d get dressed up like girls and put some high heels on,” Bush said of her “Chicago PD” co-star, “because we don’t do that at work.”
Since arriving in Chicago, Bush has dined at Au Cheval and Maude’s Liquor Bar in the West Town neighborhood, her favorite restaurants in the city, taken in The Naked and Famous concert at Riviera Theatre last month and had an equal sign tattooed onto her left ring finger at Speakeasy Custom Tattoo in Wicker Park Nov. 3 in support of equal rights.
On “Chicago PD,” the 31-year-old actress plays Erin Lindsay, a member of the CPD investigative team with an unexpected past. The Dick Wolf-produced police drama is scheduled to premiere Jan. 8 on NBC.
How does filming “Chicago PD” compare to filming “One Tree Hill,” the CW teen drama she is best known for?
“This is a dream job for me to be working on material that feels so real and so vital, when you talk about that whole notion of protecting and serving” Bush said. “It feels important. I’m incredibly honored to be wearing the badge after spending so much time with officers and SWAT and at the police academy. It very quickly makes you empathize with the people who dedicate their lives to keeping us safe.
“I’ve always loved action work. Doing high-speed chases and running around with a hand gun, (showing) all the gentleman at SWAT that I know how to shoot, that feels really nice. When the boys give you a big old pat on the back, you’re like, ‘Hey, I got this.’ ”
