Former Chicago Bears punter Adam Podlesh has sold his five-bedroom, 4,248-square-foot house in Libertyville for $879,500.
A seven-year veteran who had struggled the past two seasons, Podlesh, 30, was released by the Bears on March 5 after three years with the Bears. He signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers in April.
Just nine days after the Bears released him, Podlesh listed his Colonial-style house in Libertyville for $949,000. He had purchased the house in late 2011 for $797,500.
Built in 2000, the 14-room brick house has 5-1/2 baths, an open floor plan, a two-story foyer, a two-story family room with a fireplace and lots of windows, refinished floors, and a finished basement with a media room, a bar and a workout room, all on a 0.55-acre lot.
Podlesh gave the house multiple price decreases. After a month on the market this past spring, he cut his asking price to $925,000. By the end of April, he reduced his price again, to $899,000.
