Train service has been restored on the Blue Line between the O'Hare and Rosemont stops after trains were halted for several hours following a derailment.

The derailment occurred around 11:30 a.m. on the northbound tracks as the train was approaching the O’Hare station, CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski. Service was restored by about 3:30 p.m.

Two people on the train were checked at the scene for injuries but they were not taken to a hospital, officials said. The Chicago Fire Department had called an emergency medical services plan 1, sending at least six ambulances to the scene.

Bus-shuttle service between the two stations set up during the derailment was expected to continue running until about 4 p.m. to supplement train service.
