CSO offers live streaming of Muti's Verdi Requiem

Just because the special performance of Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem music director Riccardo Muti is conducting with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Chorus on Oct. 10 --- the exact date of the Italian composer's birth 200 years ago -- has been sold out for weeks doesn't mean the rest of the world cannot hear it at the same time Orchestra Hall does.

The CSO is presenting a live streaming of the Requiem performance over the Internet and also via a satellite broadcast to the new, state-of-the-art LED screen at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park.

Online the performance can be viewed live at the orchestra's website, cso.org/Verdi; the site RiccardoMutiMusic.com; and the CSO's Facebook page, facebook.com/Chicago Symphony.

Vocal soloists will be Tatiana Serjan, Daniela Barcellona, Mario Zeffiri and Ildar Abdrazakov.  Muti's 2010 CSO recording of the Verdi Requiem won two Grammy awards.
