Authorities have released the name of a 19-year-old man found dead in a South Side alley early Sunday with apparent lacerations to his throat and multiple gunshot wounds.
The man has been identified as Jamal Harmon, of the 6700 block of South Parnell Avenue, a representative for the Cook County medical examiner's office said.
Shortly before 7:30 a.m., officers were called to an alley on the 7600 block of South Carpenter Street in the Gresham neighborhood, police said.
Harmon was found with apparent lacerations to his throat, according to police.
Officials have opened a homicide investigation, police said. Following an autopsy, the Cook County medical examiner's office determined Harmon died from multiple stab and incise wounds and multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.
