Police initially could not identify the boy, believed to be 3 or 4, and distributed his photograph to news media early this morning in hopes of locating relatives.
The boy was found about 11:50 p.m. at the corner of East 82nd Street and South Avalon Avenue, according to the Chicago Police Department. The temperature was 6 degrees in the city around that time.
He was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital and was listed in good condition. He is in the custody of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
