Two men were shot to death on city sidewalks Tuesday night on the West Side and three others were wounded across the city, according to police.
Uriel Quinones, 20, was shot to death in the 2200 block of South Oakley Avenue in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Police said a blue van pulled alongside him and someone inside opened fire, hitting him in the chest. Quinones, of the 2300 block of West 22nd Place, was declared dead at the scene at 11:45 p.m., about 15 minutes after the shooting happened about 11:30 p.m.
Just after 11 p.m. in the 4200 block of West Lake Street, a 53-year-old man was shot to death in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. Police responded to a call of a man shot and found him dead.
The man was identified as Michael Sullivan, of the 4300 block of West Maypole Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
About 1 a.m., an 18-year-old sustained a graze wound to the head and walked into Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center for treatment. He had been shot in the 5800 block of West Altgeld Street. After he was treated, he stopped cooperating with investigators, police said.
Earlier, a 20-year-old man in a wheelchair was shot in the 1100 block of East 58th Street. A friend was pushing him when someone he knew walked up and shot him in the knee, police said. He was taken to Saint Bernard Hospital and Healthcare Center in good condition.
Another man, 32, was shot near 69th Street and East End Avenue about 6 p.m. He was hit in both arms and one leg and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
