A 16-year-old boy was shot in the Rogers Park neighborhood this evening, authorities said.
The boy was shot in both legs in the 6500 block of North Bosworth Avenue about 7:50 p.m., said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.
Someone approached the boy on foot and shot him, police said, citing preliminary information.
The boy was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where his condition had stabilized, she said.
Neighbors said the shooting took place at the southeast corner of Albion and Bosworth avenues and reported hearing several shots fired in quick succession.
