Chicago Shakespeare Theater said Wednesday that it will present the National Theatre of Scotland (which did "Black Watch") in an intimate production called "Long Gone Lonesome" at the Hideout, a neighborhood bar located at 1354 W. Wabansia Ave.
"Long Gone Lonesome" is a musical celebration of the life of the late Thomas Fraser, a Scottish fisherman from a remote island community who made his own distinctive versions of recordings by such musical legends as Hank Williams and Big Bill Broonzy. Directed by Vicky Featherstone and written by Duncan McLean, the show features the Lone Star Swing Band and concludes with a dance party. The show will play Feb. 2-4 and tickets ($25-$35) are on sale now at chicagoshakes.com.
