• A 19-year-old man was found shot to death in the parking lot of an Elgin apartment building, police said. Police made the discovery after responding to a call of shots fired in the 200 block of Silver Court about 9:25 p.m. Tuesday, according to police. Read more

• At least four people were wounded by gunfire in Chicago overnight, including a man shot as he tried to flee two robbers near Garfield Park on the West Side, police said. The robbers approached the 24-year-old man around 11:10 p.m. Tuesday at the corner of Homan Avenue and Monroe Street, Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said. • A woman died in a collision between a semi and an SUV that shut down westbound Interstate 88 near Aurora for almost six hours Tuesday night, according to authorities. The driver of an eastbound semi lost control near Illinois Route 56, crossed a grass median and hit a westbound SUV around 7:15 p.m., according to State Police Master Sgt. Greg Minx. Read more
