A man who died in a Marquette Park shooting earlier this week was able to run down his attacker with his car before he died, according to authorities.
Jeremiah Brown was inside a house in the 6400 block of South Spaulding Avenue on the Southwest Side on Thursday when Dorvell D. Gogins, 23, entered the house and stole "personal belongings" of the homeowner at gunpoint about 3 p.m., police said.
Gogins left and Brown gave chase in a gold Lexus, hitting Gogins in the 6300 block of South Kedzie Avenue, according to police.
At some point during the confrontation, police said Gogins shot Brown in the chest. Gogins is due in court Sunday on first-degree murder and armed home invasion charges.
Brown, 27, died at the scene next to his car and responding police found Gogins with broken legs and a gun nearby.
Brown lived in the 6200 block of South Albany Avenue, and Gogins lives in the 7000 block of South Hermitage Avenue.
