Chicago comic Claire Mulaney picked for 'Saturday Night Live'
Though the news comes earlier than usual, “Saturday Night Live” has already made at least one Chicago hire for its upcoming season. Local improv and sketch performer Claire Mulaney will join the long-running NBC series as a writer, according to sources close to the show. (The news was first reported by the comedy website Splitsider.) Typically the show's producers make such staffing decisions for the new TV season in mid-to-late August.
