Maria Somma, a spokeswoman for the Actors' Equity union in New York, said Friday morning that the Victory Gardens Theater production of "Ameriville" was now being produced under an Equity contract. Cathy Taylor, a Victory Gardens spokeswoman, confirmed that change on Friday.
Victory Gardens is a long-established Equity company in Chicago. The exclusive use of non-union actors in the mainstage production, the debut production of new artistic director Chay Yew, was discussed in a Tribune story posted Thursday.
