American Blues Theater, the ensemble-based company now in residence at the Grenhouse Theatre Center on Chicago's North Side, has announced its 2013-14 season.
The slate opens in September with the musical "Hank Williams: Lost Highway," a piece about the country star, directed by Damon Kieiy. Matt Brumlow will play the title role.
After the seasonal production of "It's a Wonderful Life," American Blues will stage the world premiere of "American Myth," a piece about authorial and academic ethics by Christina Gorman. Steve Scott directs, with performances set to begin in February, 2014.
In the summer of 2014, American Blues will stage the Chicago premiere of "Grounded" by George Brant, a solo play about a woman pilot with a complex life.
