Chicago's A Red Orchid Theatre has announced its new season, composed of three shows not seen before in Chicago.

In the fall, the long-running Old Town company will stage Nick Jones' "Trevor," a piece about a showbiz chimp who is long past his prime. The play was a hit earlier this year at the Theatre for a New City in New York; Jones was born and raised in Alaska.

Zinnie Harris' "Solstice" follows in January. This is a 2005 piece by a British author (who also, more recently, penned "The Wheel") and it's about a family forced to resettle away from its home.

In April, A Red Orchid opens "Mud Blue Sky" by the Chicago writer Marisa Wegrzyn, who is known for quirky comedies.
