A south suburban man was killed and a second man wounded in a shooting Monday afternoon in the Roseland neighborhood on the city's Far South Side.
The shooting happened in the 11400 block of South Yale Avenue at about 5 p.m., Chicago police said.
Authorities said a gunman opened fire on two men, striking in the chest and the other man in the shoulder.
Someone drove the man wounded in the chest, later identified as Marvin McFerren, 43, to nearby Roseland Community Hospital before he was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
An autopsy for McFerren, of the 100 block of Moonlight Road in Matteson, is scheduled for later today.
The second victim was also taken to Mount Sinai where his condition was stabilized, police said.
No arrests had been made as of late Monday night. Police offered no motive for the shooting.
