A South Side teen broke into a basement apartment in the Back of the Yards on Thursday, dragged the resident out of his bed and made off with electronics, money and a debit card, prosecutors said.

Assistant State’s Attorney Claire Savaglio said Sinsay Davis was one of two robbers who broke through a basement window in the 4900 block of South Paulina Street. The resident believes his attackers placed a handgun to his head, Savaglio said in bond court Saturday.

Davis, 18, was charged with aggravated robbery and residential burglary, both felonies.

Davis and the female who was with him made off with a PlayStation 3, a Canon camera and several lenses, costume jewelry and an ATM card.

The attackers demanded the man’s PIN number, and they soon made two withdrawals at the MB Financial Bank at 5100 S. Damen Ave., Savaglio said. All told, they took $480 from the account. The bank is about half a mile from the man’s home.

Police identified Davis from surveillance images taken at MB Financial. He was arrested Friday afternoon.

Judge Laura Marie Sullivan ordered Davis, of the 6100 block of South Laflin Street in the Englewood neighborhood, held on $125,000 bail.
