Authorities have released the name of a 23-year-old Chicago man shot to death in Skokie on Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Police responded to a 911 call at 9:50 a.m. on a report of shots fired at Oakton Street and McCormick Boulevard, police said.
When officers arrived, they learned someone drove the man to Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he died, police said.
The shooting victim was identified as Antoine Sanders, of the 7000 block of South Paulina Street, a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office said this morning.
The shots were fired by a male in black clothing riding a maroon motorcycle near the 8000 block of McCormick Boulevard, a statement from Skokie police said.
The man killed, who was in the passenger seat of another vehicle, was shot in the chest, the statement said.
Skokie police officials do not believe it was a random incident.
There have been no arrests, according to the statement.
The North Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident, which is believed to be gang-related, police said.
Anyone with information should contact Skokie police, 847-982-5900 or the Crime Tip Hotline, 847-933-TIPS (8477).
