A 17-year-old Sauk Village boy died Saturday after being stabbed in his south suburban home, officials said.

According to a press release from the Office of the Lake County Coroner in northwest Indiana, Diontae Erwin, of the 1700 block of East 223d Street, died at 12:41 p.m. Saturday at Franciscan St. Margaret Health in Dyer, Ind. The office ruled the death a homicide.

Sauk Village police had no further information Sunday morning about the circumstances surrounding the death, saying that until a press release was available, they would not be releasing any information. Police said that the release may be available Sunday afternoon.
