Police are urging residents on the Northwest Side to remain alert after two men tried to lure a girl into their vehicles Thursday afternoon.
About 12:15 p.m., a man believed to be in his 20s pulled a light-colored Nissan Altima next to a juvenile female walking in the 3400 block of West Wabansia Avenue and offered her a ride, detectives said in a community alert.
The girl, whose age was not released, ignored the man and he drove off, according to police. A second man, also believed to be in his 20s, then pulled a light-colored SUV next to the girl, police said.
After asking the girl if she needed a ride, the driver said, 'Come on, jump in," according to the community alert.
The second driver continued westbound on Wabansia when the girl ignored him, police said.
Detailed descriptions of the suspects were not released, but police are urging residents not to talk with strangers or approach strange vehicles.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Area North detectives at (312)-744-8200.
