One person is in custody following a domestic-related shooting that left a 50-year-old man dead this afternoon in the Englewood neighborhood, authorities said.
The slain man was identified as Ronald Peterson, who was shot in front of his home in the 5800 block of South Shields, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. Police News Affairs had no information on the victim's identity, and court and voter registration records show Ronald Peters, 50, lives at the Shields address.
Someone shot the man about 3 p.m. in the 5800 block of South Shields Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.
The man was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in critical condition, said Zala. He later died there, according to the medical examiner's office.
One person has been taken into custody and a weapon was recovered, said Zala.
