A man robbed an Aldi store in Lisle on Monday afternoon.

The robbery happened about 2:35 p.m. at the store, 5525 Route 53 / Main Street in Lisle.

He tried to take money from an open cash drawer, and when the cashier tried to close it, the man "displayed a silver/grey large framed handgun" before he took cash out of the drawer.

Nobody was injured during the robbery. Police said the man fled on foot, got into a silver or gray four-door car, and fled east on Maple Avenue.

Police didn't say how much money he made off with.

The suspect is a white man between 20 and 30 years old who's about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. He wore a black baseball hat, black jacket and blue jeans during the robbery. The baseball hat may have been a "Hurley" brand hat.

Police released pictures of the suspect and are asking anyone with information to call (630) 271-4200.
