There is no question that I could be spending my time in a more productive manner than writing a letter to the editor, but some of the things Republican governor hopeful Bruce Rauner keeps spouting in his TV ads aggravate me so much that they demand a rebuttal.
He can’t seem to make up his mind on the topic of minimum wage. One day he says Illinois' minimum wage of $8.25 per hour is too much and should be rolled back to $7.25 per hour. The next day, he wants the minimum wage to be the same as the federal wage knowing that the government is planning to increase the wage. So which is it? A rollback, an increase, or stay the same?
Then he talks about term limits. We already have term limits. They're called elections.
Rauner talks about making changes in Springfield without getting into specifics as to how he will make those changes. I hope voters wake up before the March primary and realize that this candidate is uninformed and out of his league.
