A silver car wound up entangled in a tree and had to be pulled off an embankment by a tow truck early Sunday morning on the Eisenhower Expressway, but those in the car escaped with minor injuries, police said.
The crash happened in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 290 just east of the Damen Avenue exit about 5 a.m.
Two people suffered minor injuries, with one taken to John H. Stroger Hospital and the other either treated on the scene or treated and released, according to a State Police trooper.
Citations were issued, and alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, but there were no drunk-driving citations issued, as the driver was not over the legal level for blood-alcohol content, according to the trooper. No arrests were made.
