Illinois State Police said all eastbound lanes have reopened after a crash involving a Volkswagen and a semi-truck this morning on I-80 between Houbolt and Larkin avenues near Joliet.
According to preliminary reports, the driver of the Volkswagen lost control in the eastbound lanes and went underneath a semi that was carrying two trailers, said police. The crash caused the second trailer to flip over.
The driver of the Volkswagen was taken to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet with non-life threatening injuries, said police.
Police had cautioned drivers to expect heavy delays and traffic back-ups on 1-80 in the area of Interstate 55 due to the crash between milepost 127 and milepost 131.
As of 11:30 a.m., all lanes were open.
