A branch bank in a North Center neighborhood grocery store was robbed this morning, police said.

A man in his 30s walked up to a teller about 10:10 a.m. at the TCF Bank in the 4200 block of North Lincoln Avenue and robbed the bank, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada. The bank is inside the Jewel-Osco at 4250 N. Lincoln Ave.

The man left the bank with cash and fled on foot, Estrada said. The amount stolen was not available.

The robber was described as a white man in his 30s, wearing a red-and-white beanie, a burgundy coat and blue jeans, with some sort of medical tape or gauze on his face. Estrada said. He also was  carrying a cane.
