Fancy fried chicken restaurants in 2013 gave way to fancy fried chicken sandwich shops in 2014. Leghorn Chicken, one of the “louder” restaurants of this genre, has announced it will expand to a second location this fall.

Chef Jared Van Camp and Element Collective announced Wednesday that the new Leghorn Cafe will set up shop at 600 N. LaSalle St. in the Ohio House Motel. The site was formerly home to the Ohio House Diner, which operated from 1960 until last year.

In addition to chicken sandwiches, the cafe will also serve breakfast and stay open until early evening.

When Leghorn Chicken opened in Ukrainian Village back in March, the restaurant aimed to strike as the philosophical opposite of Chick-fil-A’s founders. The restaurant is open on Sundays (unlike Chick-fil-A), it donates to gay rights organizations and prides itself on blasting loud, explicit hip-hop as its soundtrack.
