Katherine Wing Hamilton, nee Bryan, 98, of Evanston, IL, died October 8, 2001 in Evanston, following a long illness. Memorial services will be held at The Elliott Chapel at The Presbyterian Home in Evanston on Saturday, October 27, 2001 at 3 p.m. Interment will be a private service in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Survivors include stepson William Hamilton (Mary Jean) of Sarasota, FL; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Katherine was born October 2, 1903 in Chicago, IL. She received her B.A. from Coe College in 1925 and her M.A. from Northwestern University in 1939. Katherine married Luman R. Wing on November 6, 1948. He died March 15, 1953. She married William Hughes Hamilton on November 30, 1968. He died January 18, 1987. Katherine taught English at New Trier East High School until 1968. She was director of the Junior Red Cross, Midwest area (1942-45), a member of the Lake Street Church in Evanston, Delta Delta Delta Sorority, Infant Welfare Society of Evanston, IL, Children Home and Aid Society and Westmoreland Country Club.
