What's in store for 'Spartacus: Vengeance' characters: The stars talk
So much has changed in the Roman Republic since Spartacus and his gladiator-rebels cut a bloody path through the House of Batiatus at the end of "Spartacus: Blood and Sand." Your favorite characters have changed as well. Here's what the actors who play them have to say about the mindset of each of their characters at the beginning of "Spartacus: Vengeance" (9 p.m. Jan. 27, Starz; 3 stars), and also what you can expect from them throughout the season. (Quotes are taken from my interviews with them and conference call with reporters.)

Liam McIntyre on Spartacus
"I think the biggest challenge that Spartacus faces is embracing that bigger cause that I guess ultimately left its mark on history. Which is that of taking these disparate people--these rebels--and building them into a force that is for a while certainly the match of Rome. It's something that he really has to get to the bottom of this season. It's one of his great challenges. And something that was really important in exploring this year."
