Jarl Borg faces the wrath of Ragnar Lothbrok in the latest episode of History's "Vikings," and Ragnar's war to take back Kattegat brings his family together.
Ragnar, Rollo, Bjorn and Lagertha team up in "Answers in Blood," airing at 9 p.m. March 27. It's the first time Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) gets to see fighting prowess of his son, Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig). As you can see in the clip above, he also tests Bjorn's nerves by making him offer a sacrifice to the gods.
The best part of the video clip, however, is the reaction on Floki's face when Ragnar tells Bjorn to chop off an enemies head. He's nearly giggling with joy, it seems. The scene is just another example of Gustaf Skarsgard's interesting take on Floki, who will become a great friend to Bjorn.
"Bjorn really finds some unexpected mentors along the way," Alexander Ludwig said. "I think you can expect a great relationship between Bjorn and Floki as well, and a long-lasting one at that...
"Everyone thought [Bjorn] was protected by the gods because he was such an incredible fighter and he was never touched when he was fighting. So obviously Floki, being the [spiritual] extremist he is, believes that wholeheartedly and he wants to basically be there for Bjorn at all times."
The episode also furthers Athelstan's storyline after last week's soul-crushing crucifixion that he wasn't meant to survive. As he travels with Wessex King Ecbert's men, Athelstan (George Blagden) will continue to struggle to define his faith.
"I think the most interesting part about moving forward with Athelstan is his psychological downturn and how you will see his mind alter," Blagden said.
