Former 'Chuck' star Vik Sahay signs up for werewolf flick

As if Jeffster's song stylings weren't frightening enough, former "Chuck" actor Vik Sahay is ready to scare the crap out of fans.

Sahay, best known as Lester Patel in NBC's "Chuck," will play one of three leads in "WER," a horror film from director William Brent Bell that also stars A.J. Cook from CBS' "Criminal Minds," Simon Quarterman from "The Devil Inside" and Brian J. O'Connor from "Epic Movie."

Bell wrote the script with Matt Peterman, who co-wrote "The Devil Inside," and also will direct the werewolf flick.

"At first I struggled making the decision to do the film because I was offered a TV pilot and have had a great experience with television," Sahay said in a statement. "But I haven't done much horror in the past and thanks to William and Matt's script, I will be taken back into dramatic water after many wonderful years in comedy."

Sahay, currently on big screens in the comedy "American Reunion," will play Eric Sarin, an investigator working with defense attorney Kate Moore (Cook) to look into the murder of an American family in Paris. Sarin has doubts about Talan Gwynek (O'Connor), the suspect Moore is defending.

Sahay, always a fan favorite with Scott Krinsky for their "Chuck" characters' musical mishaps, is ready to court a new fan base.

"Coming off an incomparable fan experience like 'Chuck' and knowing how passionate horror fans are, I am looking forward to redeeming myself to the horror family," he said.

The cast and crew of "WER" currently are filming in Bucharest, Romania.

I’m not sure which is more surprising: That Aug. 7 is officially (unofficially) the week of the Mamie Gummer movie, or that one of those movies features a good supporting performance from Rick Springfield. Yes, that Rick Springfield. What? You mean you don’t—he’s the “Jessie’s Girl” guy. Now you...

From the second I walked through the convention hall doors, I could only really see about 4 feet in front of me, and poorly at that. A DJ was blasting an EDM remix of Kanye's "All Day." I had arrived at the Vape League Electronic Cigarette Convention in suburban Rosemont.
