The Wiener's Circle: Drunk, disorderly & now on TruTV
Send your kids to their rooms and put Granny to bed, The Chocolate Shake is about to make its TV debut. Beginning March 20, TruTV launches its latest reality TV docu-series, "The Wiener's Circle."
Yes, drunk Chicago, you heard that right. If you've recently sparred with staff members at The Wiener's Circle, that Lincoln Park joint that's known far and wide for its outrageous, abusive late-night atmosphere, you may have been captured on film.
It's not surprising that someone decided to make a series about the place. After all, shock value is the bread and butter, or should I say mustard and relish, of reality TV. What is surprising is that producers RelativityREAL managed to get any footage that can be used without bleeps and blurs.
In each episode of "The Wiener's Circle," drunk customers will participate in games and physical challenges for a chance at a free meal. A TruTV publicist called the planned six episodes a "pilot series," which means if it does well it could be back with more episodes soon. "The Wiener's Circle" debuts at 9 p.m. March 20.
Oh, and if you don't know what the Chocolate Shake is, check out the clip in the gallery below from "This American Life." Also included is a video from Chicago Tribune food writer Kevin Pang's "The Cheeseburger Show." Warning, none of these videos are safe for work, or kids, or your Granny. Unless she likes to cuss.
