After teasing viewers with several short video teases, FX finally released a full-on trailer for its latest drama, "The Bridge," which will debut at 9 p.m. CT July 10.
Based on a successful Scandinavian drama by the same name (but, you know, "Broen" in Danish and "Bron" in Swedish), the series is set on the border between El Paso, Texas, and Juarez, Mexico. Diane Kruger and "A Better Life" Oscar nominee Demian Bichir as detectives from the U.S. and Mexico, respectively, who must partner on a case involving a series of murders that begin with the discovery of a body placed on a bridge between the two countries.
The original was set on the border of Denmark and Sweden.
If the trailer is any indication, the two detectives neither get along nor trust each other. Add some nasty body-part swapping, Mexican drug cartel violence, police corruption, racism and sociopolitical complications of the setting and this looks like a powder keg ready to explode.
Looks like FX has created another great drama to add to its string of hits including "Justified," "The Americans," "Sons of Anarchy" and "American Horror Story."
I'm ready to cross "The Bridge." How about you?
