If you're attending San Diego Comic Con, mark this one in your schedule: "Strike Back," Cinemax's thrilling and realistic look at how covert military teams operate, will make it debut at the con with a Friday panel and Saturday screening of the first two episodes of its second season.
The show follows the fictional stealth counterterrorism unit Section 20 as its agents span the globe to stop potential terrorist threats.
Series stars Philip Winchester, Sullivan Stapleton and Rhona Mitra will be on hand for the events, which are must-sees for this fan. Season 2 of the series begins in August, but Cinemax currently is reairing the first season on Friday nights. The "Strike Back" Season 1 DVD and Blu-ray drops August 7 from HBO Home Entertainment.
Here are the details of "Strike Back's" con appearance:
8 p.m.- 9 p.m. Friday, July 13 at Convention Center Room 6DE
Giving fans a peek into the making of the series, the panel will feature exclusive clips of the new season that was shot on location in South Africa. Moderated by HitFix TV critic Alan Sepinwall, the cast will share insights about the series and their characters, and will take questions from fans. There will also be giveaways of exclusive merchandise.
1 p.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, July 14 at Reading Cinemas Gaslamp Stadium 15, 701 5th Ave. at G St., San Diego (3 blocks from the Convention Center)
The cast will attend a special screening for fans and take part in a fan Q&A, which I just learned I will be hosting. The initial two episodes of the new season will screen for the first time. The screening is open to attendees with 2012 Comic-Con badges and seating is on a first come, first serve basis.
