'Strike Back' Ep. 18 preview gallery: Backed in a corner
With just three episodes left, the latest season of "Strike Back" is winding down. But it isn't going out without a bang--or 20. Director Michael Bassett really ratchets up the action this week.
The members of Section 20 still are reeling from their devastating loss in last week's episode, while the people of Zimbabwe are rioting after the shooting of opposition leader Walter Lutulu (played by the great Eamonn Walker, who was totally under-utilized in these two episodes).
While pursuing the shooter, Stonebridge (Philip Winchester) gets cornered by an angry mob and Section 20--still working off book after being arrested last week--has limited resources to help him. Meanwhile, Scott (Sullivan Stapleton) engages in a dangerous tug of war with Craig Hanson (Shane Taylor) over Lutulu's daughter, Lillian (Tracy Ifeachor). Hanson's still working for Conrad Knox (Charles Dance), who kind of wants Africa for himself now.
Watch for my interview with Bassett, who directed episodes 17 and 18, which were written by John Simpson. Episode 18 debuts at 9 p.m. CT Sept. 28 on Cinemax and airs throughout the weekend.
