'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' Season 5 finale preview: Shocking changes

Ahsoka Tano faces trial in the High Courts of the Galactic Republic in the shocking Season 5 finale of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars."

In "The Wrong Jedi," airing at 8:30 a.m. CT March 2 on Cartoon Network, Admiral Tarkin still has it in for Ahsoka, who is wrongly accused of sedition and murder. Ahsoka's last hope lies in Anakin Skywalker, who hunts the Coruscant underworld for the real murderer. Is it Asajj Ventress, whom Ahsoka thought was working with her?

Whatever happens, we're promised that major revelations "will leave characters forever changed."

The culmination of five years of development of Ahsoka Tano's character and her relationship with Anakin, the finale was personally directed by Dave Filoni, who has served as supervising director for the entire series but hasn't directed many individual episodes. Underscoring the significance of the finale, composer Kevin Kiner arranged an orchestral score for this episode to better resemble the full, classical score found in the "Star Wars" feature films.

There had been rumors that Season 5 would be the final season of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," or that the series would move to an ABC/Disney channel after Disney bought Lucasfilm in a $4.05 billion deal.

I asked a source at Lucasfilm via email about the future of the series and was told: "There are more 'Clone Wars' stories to tell. We look forward to sharing information on where fans can find new content soon."

So there's some good news.
