"Star Wars Rebels" has introduced its first female character, Sabine, a Mandalorian with an interest in art—and explosives.

"She likes to blow things up," says actress Tiya Sircar, who is voicing the character. "She does it with flare, because she's also an artist."

Sabine is a key member of the Ghost crew, which consists of its captain, Kanan; its muscle, Zeb; its young con man, Ezra; and its cranky droid, Chopper.

The latest video introduction from Lucasfilm and Disney shows early design concepts of the character, animation tests and final art, along with interviews from Sircar and the creators.

Sabine is unlike any "Star Wars" character, exec producer Dave Filoni says. She has a great understanding of weapons and combat and uses them both against the Empire.

After the Ghost crew attacks the Empire, Sabine tags their work with distinctive graffiti so the Imperial forces know who went after them. Sabine's love of art is not just reflected in her graffiti calling cards, but also in hair and personalized armor.

"She is spunky, she's feisty, she's got a little bit of attitude," Sircar says of the no-nonsense heroine."I think she's kind of an inspiration."

Premiering with a one-hour special this fall on the Disney Channel before moving to Disney XD as a weekly series, "Rebels" will cover the action between big-screen films "Episode III--Revenge of the Sith" and "Episode IV--A New Hope."

Disney and Lucasfilm have been dropping teasers and introducing characters on a weekly basis to pump up the already huge interest in the series:

Meet Zeb, the brawn and brains

Meet Kanan, a Jedi Knight survivor

Meet Ezra, the young hero

Meet Chopper, the cranky droid

Meet The Inquisitor, Darth Vader's henchman
