'Saturday Night Live' opens Season 39 with Tina Fey

Tina Fey will return to "Saturday Night Live" on Sept. 28 to host its Season 39 premiere, NBC announced Monday.

Fey, the former head writer and "Weekend Update" anchor, already has hosted three times since leaving the show in 2006. Arcade Fire will makes its fourth appearance as musical guest the same night.

"SNL" enters its 39th season after seeing the exits of key cast members such as Bill Hader, Jason Sudeikis and Andy Samberg, so it's a no-brainer to get Fey back in the fold for the premiere Expect some fun cameos, too.

NBC announced more hosts: On Oct. 5, Miley Cyrus will serve as host and musical guest--so expect some twerking. Maybe she'll spoof herself? On Oct. 12, Bruce Willis will host for a second time while Katy Perry will make her second appearance as musical guest.
