Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein are hard at work filming Season 3 of "Portlandia," and to prove it IFC has released a sneak peek skit from the new season.
"Meditation Crush" hit the web last week (sorry I'm way behind!) and it shows Armisen and Brownstein as two members of a yoga class with very different thoughts about the other. It's quite funny and a perfect gift to hold fans over until Jan. 4, when the season begins.
But that's not all the good folks at "Portlandia" have for us. A pre-season bonus episode titled "Winter in Portlandia" will air at 9:30 p.m. CT Dec. 14 on IFC, and the book "Portlandia: A Guide for Visitors" hits book stores this week.
In the holiday episode, according to IFC, "Bohemian couple Peter and Nance struggle to keep off winter weight, Candace's son visits the feminist bookstore during the holidays and artisan curators Bryce and Lisa offer a winter vacation at their newly opened Outlet Hotel."
As for Season 3, IFC has announced that Chloe Sevigny will guest star as Fred and Carrie's new roommate and Kyle MacLachlan will return as Portland's mayor. Again, the season premieres at 9 p.m. CT Jan. 4 on IFC.
IFC released additional news about the new Portlandia Co-Op which you can read below.
The Portlandia Co-Op opens its doors at IFC.com in an effort to rally fans and reward their avid posting, liking, Tweeting, crafting and Pinning about all things Portlandia. Co-Op members can apply to take over the Portlandia Twitter handle, post art or images inspired by Portlandia on Instagram using #portlandia, or create handmade Portlandia coffee sleeves.
Command of the Portlandia Twitter feed will rotate to a new fan each week, chosen from online applicants. To commemorate fans' Portlandia-influenced artwork, IFC will commission an artist to create a poster inspired by the images, which will be placed on outdoor and print ad space nationwide. Lastly, IFC will be purchasing hand-made coffee sleeves from Co-Op participants (up to 20 sleeves per crafter) and will distribute them throughout independent coffee shops across the country. All participating Co-Op members will receive a screen-printed version of the fan-inspired Portlandia poster.
