“Nikita” returns Thursday after a looong hiatus with what looks to be a dangerous double blackmail.

In the last episode, Michael (Shane West) surprised Nikita (Maggie Q) in her hideout, and Nikita isn’t going to be happy about seeing her former mentor/lover again.

Here’s The CW’s official description of the episode, titled “Covenants” and airing at 8 p.m. April 7:

“Michael (Shane West) confronts Nikita (Maggie Q) in her lair and reveals that he knows Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca) is the mole. He tells Nikita that she has 24 hours to find Kasim (guest star Haaz Sleiman), the man who killed Michael’s family, or he will tell Percy (Xander Berkley) about Alex. Eagle Egilsson directed the episode written by Jim Barnes.”

Nikita doesn’t take any threat lying down, as fans well know. The sneak peek below shows that she demands a quid pro quo from Michael. She wants him to give her the locations of Percy’s black boxes.

It’s always thrilling to see these folks double cross and try to out maneuver each other, but I’m curious to see how Nikita and Alex, ultimately, will get out of this dilemma.

Now that Michael knows Alex is the mole, he’s going to have to either join up with Nikita, or tell Percy. He can’t possibly keep Nikita on a leash for long, right? What does creator Craig Silverstein have up his sleeve for the rest of the season? IGN's Eric Goldman got some scoop from Silverstein about shifting loyalties, the return of Devon Sawa as Owen and Ray Park's upcoming appearances.

Whatever happens, I’m ready to see some ass-kicking on Thursday nights again. Are you excited for the return of “Nikita?” Comment below.
