NBC's Fall 2011 schedule: 'Chuck' moves to Fridays

NBC officially announced its 2011-12 primetime schedule Sunday, confirming that "Chuck" will return for its fifth--and final--season of 13 episodes. The spy comedy moves to 7 p.m. Fridays.

NBC appears to be giving the ratings-starved "Chuck" and its dedicated fans 13 episodes to properly finish the story of Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi), who has gone from nerd to super spy with the supports of his family, friends and spy handlers, a ka Team Bartowski. It's amazing that "Chuck," always a bubble show, stuck around as long as it has. NBC has made a smart move by allowing fans to share a proper goodbye.

Returning shows include "Parenthood," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "Harry's Law," "Community," "Parks and Recreation," "The Office," "30 Rock" and "Dateline NBC." Among next season's returning alternative series are "The Voice," "The Sing-Off," "The Celebrity Apprentice" and "The Biggest Loser," each in two-hour formats.
