The new Batman looks more like Robin. David Mazouz will play Bruce Wayne in the upcoming Fox series "Gotham" while acting newcomer Camren Bicondova has been cast as Selina Kyle, the future Catwoman.
Warner Bros. Television made the announcements Tuesday.
Mazouz, who previously starred in Fox's "Touch," will play Wayne as a preteen in the prequel to the Batman adventures made famous in DC Comics, a batcave full of big screen movies and the classic TV show.
"Gotham" focuses on the origin story of Det. James Gordon before he becomes commissioner of Gotham police and a supported of the Dark Knight. "SouthLand" star Ben McKenzie is starring as Gordon.
Bicondova will play the teen Kyle as an unpredictable orphan who doesn't trust easily. She's a pickpocket and thief, WB says. "Gotham," which comes from Bruno Heller and Danny Cannon, also will introduce many of the future Batman's infamous foes in their younger days.
Other previously announced cast members include Donal Logue as Det. Harvey Bullock, Zabryna Guevara as Capt. Essen, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot, a ka The Penguin, and Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney.
