'Gotham' character look: Detective Harvey Bullock

"Gotham" is giving viewers their first look at Detective Harvey Bullock, young Jim Gordon's partner and mentor in the upcoming Fox series.

Donal Logue plays rough-around-the-edges Bullock, who "plays loose with police procedure, but gets results — and he does so with old-school, hard-ass panache," according to Warner Bros. Television and Fox. "SouthLand" actor Ben McKenzie stars as Gordon.

Warner Bros. will roll out another new character look Friday.

Based on the DC Comics characters, "Gotham" focuses on the origin story of Det. James Gordon before he becomes commissioner of Gotham police and a supporter of the Dark Knight. The series, which comes from Bruno Heller and Danny Cannon, also will introduce many of the future Batman's infamous foes in their younger days.

Other previously announced cast members include David Mazouz as a young Bruce Wayne, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle, the future Catwoman, Zabryna Guevara as Capt. Essen, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot, a ka The Penguin, and Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney.
