'Ghost Hunters' investigates Peoria Asylum

The TAPS team heads to downstate Bartonville for its Jan. 30 adventure to investigate strange goings-on at the Peoria Asylum--aka the Illinois Asylum for the Incurable Insane.

The asylum is known as a hotspot of paranormal activity, and its owners have called Jason, Steve and the Scooby gang to look into reports of bizarre and unexplained occurrences and determine if they are linked to recent renovations.

As you can see in the preview, Steve and Jason are investigating whether the spirits of former doctors, patients or a gravedigger are trying to hinder the restoration of their home.

Check out the Peoria Asylum web site here.

"Prescription for Fear" airs at 8 p.m. CT Wednesday on Syfy.
