"Games of Thrones" Season 4 premieres at 8 p.m. April 6 on HBO.

HBO released the first full trailer for Season 4 of "Game of Thrones" Sunday just before the premiere of "True Detective."

The new season premieres at 8 p.m. April 6 on HBO.

The trailer gives us a first look at Prince Oberyn Martell, who is played by Chilean actor Pedro Pascal. Also called the Red Viper of Dorne, the prince travels to King's Landing seeking revenge against the Lannisters.

We also see Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) in trouble, as well as a cleaned up Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) arguing with his nephew/son, King Joffrey (Jack Gleeson), and Cersei (Lena Headey) telling off her dad.

Speaking of tough women, Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) continues her march to power with support from her dragons and Daario Naharis (now played by Michiel Huisman from "Nashville").

The trailer also shows flashes of the Battle of Castle Black, which will test Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and his former (?) lady love Ygritte (Rose Leslie).
