"Have you ever invented a recipe that is way beyond the culinary box? Or discovered a crazy food combination that brings taste to surprising and delectable new delights?" Spike TV asks in its auditions announcement.
Does wrapping a dill pickle spear and a dollop of mayo in a Kraft Single and calling it an hors d'oeuvre count?
No? Well, if you believe you can top that, sign up for auditions in eight cities, including Dec. 6 and 8 at Theatre Momentum, 1800 Cornelia Ave. in Chicago. You’ll find the full schedule below.
On the show, amateur food innovators will compete to get their food concoctions onto the menus of restaurants, win a cash prize and possibly create the next big food craze.
If you are interested in being a contestant, go to the Sharp Entertainment casting site and fill out a questionnaire prior to attending a casting call. If attending a local casting call, contestants should bring at least one serving size of their Frankenfood dish and a current photo of themselves.
"Frankenfood" will be hosted by New York chef Josh Capon with actor-restaurateur-Cheesesteak-impresario Tony Luke Jr. serving as a judge. The series will debut on Spike TV in 2014. Find more on the show at Spike.
