FX has been rolling out clues for its upcoming freak show "American Horror Story," and now the network is tempting viewers with a short, tantalizing teaser called "Family Portrait."
I'm still not sure what's going to happen in this series, but I'm sure it's going to be bizarre.
The show, which comes from "Glee" and "Nip/Tuck" creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck, tells the story of a family that moves into a haunted house. In the trailer, we see the Harmon family in various stages of strange. We also see Larry Harvey, aka "the Burnt Man" (Denis O'Hare), step into a fireplace after walking past Constance (Jessica Lange), the Harmons' neighbor.
Ben Harmon (Dylan McDermott) crosses paths with Moira, the Harmon's housekeeper, but it's Moira when she was much younger. The actress is Alexandra Breckenridge, who I believe is playing the younger version of Moria. Frances Conroy plays Moira in the present. So that's wierd.
Just to keep things really creepy, though, that gimp-suited guy from the clue clips reaches down from the ceiling to touch Vivien Harmon (Connie Britton). I'd enjoy wearing pants made of the shiny leather that he's got on, but an entire body suit? That just scares me.
I also noticed some people I can't seem to identify, who come in and out of sight. I'm thinking there are ghosts in the house. Everyone, Taissa Farmiga and Evan Peters included, then converges into one room for the "family portrait."
Is this a clue that the Harmon family is a lot bigger than FX is letting on? We'll have to wait until "American Horror Story" premieres at 9 p.m. Oct. 5. Will you be watching? What do you think of the teaser?
