CW revises its fall 2013 premiere schedule

The CW has revised its Fall 2013 TV schedule, launching its season Oct. 3, a week earlier then previously announced.

The fun now begins Oct. 3 with the return of "The Vampire Diaries" and the series premiere of its spin-off, "The Originals." On Oct. 7, "Hart of Dixie" and "Beauty and the Beast" premiere on a new night--Monday. That's a theme for a lot of the CW schedule; only "The Vampire Diaries" and "Arrow" air on the same nights as last season.

"Arrow" will be followed on Wednesdays by the new series "The Tomorrow People," which stars Robbie Amell, cousin of "Arrow" star Stephen Amell. On Thursdays, the new series "Reign," abuot the early years of Mary, Queen of Scots, will follow "The Vampire Diaries."

"The Originals" will move to its regular day and time beginning Oct. 8 paired with "Supernatural," which is back for its ninth season. "The Originals" tells the story of the original vampire family from "The Vampire Diaries." Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) find a new home in New Orleans, a city now run by Klaus's former protege Marcel (Charles Michael Davis).

"The Carrie Diaries" and "America's Next Top Model: Guys and Girls" get dumped to Fridays.

No word on when CW will air the final season of "Nikita."
