"Community" goes beyond graduation, beyond the mystery, beyond the truth, beyond Season 4's darkest timeline in Season 5.

The latest trailer for the NBC goes for broke getting everyone excited about the one-hour season premiere at 7 p.m. Jan. 2. Creator Dan Harmon is back at the helm, and things are going to get really dark, and no doubt weird and hilarious.

"This is the biggest crisis to hit Greendale since we held the crisis protest in the wrong Korea," Dean Pelton (Jim Rash) says.

In the epic trailer, Troy (Donald Glover) is violated by the "ass-crack bandit" who drops a quarter down his pants that touches his "butt's mouth." A killer robot seems to be on the loose and Jeff (Joel McHale) is now an instructor.

Britta (Gillian Jacobs) takes control of a game of The Floor Is Lava. We see attacking chair-walkers, rioting Greendale students led by Annie (Alison Brie) and Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown), who seems to be facing off against guest star Jonathan Banks from "Breaking Bad."

Walton Goggins of FX's "Justified" guest stars as an investigator who gets Senor Chang (Ken Jeong) to admit to what he's done in the study room, which does not make a pretty picture in my head.

We see glimpses of Abed (Danny Pudi) assuming the persona of crime-fighting cyborg Kickpuncher and John Oliver reprising his role as Professor Ian Duncan and Rob Corddry as Alan Connor.

How excited are you for Jan. 2?
