'Chuck Versus the Zoom'

Without the Intersect in his head or the support of the CIA, the world of espionage is a much more dangerous place for Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi) and his team of freelance spies. To start, Carmichael Industries takes on a slick, rich thief named Jean Claude (guest star Mark Hamill), and a conniving investor, Roger Bale (guest star Craig Kilborn), who has stolen money from some of the world's most dangerous people. Meanwhile, Morgan (Joshua Gomez) helps Chuck with a special surprise for Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski). Back in the Buy More, Jeff (Scot Krinsky) and Lester (Vik Sahay) have taken things to another level with their latest scheme. (NBC)

"Chuck," the little show that could (never get canceled), returns for its fifth and final season—on its own terms.
"Chuck" (7 p.m. Oct. 28, NBC; 3 stars) almost didn’t make it past its first season, but thanks to a loud and loyal fan base it not only survived but thrived, with creators Chris Fedak and Josh Schwartz giving fans one of the most clever, fun series I've had the pleasure to watch the past four seasons.
I suppose I could have nitpicked about plot holes and other flaws over the years, but this show is all about the wonderful characters, the geektastic references and the laughter and joy they cause. I’m a complete fanboy for “Chuck.”
Last season ended with Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi) losing the super spy-making Intersect and his bumbling buddy Morgan (Joshua Gomez) accidentally uploading it into his own brain. Chuck and super (hot) spy Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) got married and saved the day for Alexei Volkoff/Hartley Winterbottom (Timothy Dalton) and his daughter. Hartley duly rewarded them with enough money to buy the Buy More and start their own freelance spy agency with Morgan and Casey (Adam Baldwin), called Carmichael Industries. Chuck’s sister, Ellie (Sarah Lancaster), and hubby Devon (Ryan McPartlin) also learned the whole truth about Chuck’s espionage life.
The final season opens with Chuck doubting he can keep up with Morgan and the rest of the team without the Intersect, while Sarah pines for the perfect house. Morgan, well, he’s just having a good time with the Intersect. The freelancers take on a new case in which they match wits with Roger Bale (Craig Kilborn), an oily corporate type who bilked millions from investors.
And don’t worry, Jeff (Scott Krinsky), Lester (Vik Sahay) and Big Mike (Mark Christopher Lawrence) all still work at the Buy More.
As far as a season-long arc goes, Chuck and his freelance team also take on CIA baddie Clyde Decker (Richard Burgi), who tells Chuck he was a pawn in a larger scheme that will no doubt lead everyone down another rabbit hole.
I can’t wait to see what’s there; it’s going to be an awesome final season.
